I love habits, I love that my daily life is well ordered and without surprises.
Before Fontennoy, I was a PhD student and a teacher. My whole life has been centered on being a good student. In 2021, I decided to break with this orderly daily life and to take my first steps into a more creative and surprising world.
Letting go of reassuring habits is never easy, it’s a process that takes time but opens up a whole field of possibilities. It took me several days to carve the Marée basse earrings. In French, « marée basse » means low tide. To me, tides evoke the natural fluctuations that life imposes on us. They also remind me how it is sometimes important to break away from habits in order to move forward in life.
Please note that silver will naturally oxidize and darken over time. You can use a polishing cloth to gently polish your jewelry or you can also use Clay stone ( also called silver stone or white stone) to help clean and polish your silver pieces.
Please be aware that contact with a humid environment, chemicals in lotions, skin acidity or perfumes or soaps can affect the gold layer on your jewelry. Swimming, showering, exercising or sleeping with your jewelry on is not recommended. As for silver jewelry, try to store it away from direct light.
I use natural pearls for all Fontennoy’s jewelry. Please note that freshwater pearls are fragile and do not get along well with water or chemicals product.
